Teen Underground Cafe

Teen Underground Cafe

A performance and arts opportunity for teens age 12-18.

Through Teen Underground Cafe, we hope to turn libraries all over the City of Pittsburgh into showcases of teen talent and cultivate a steady venue for teen artistic expression.

Teen Underground Cafe: Open Mic Night

Teen Underground Cafe is traveling across the city for a series of afterhours open mic nights. The stage is yours to feature your music, poetry and more. With a full PA system and back line of drums, guitars and amps, you may meet a fellow collaborator - or get scouted to feature more of your work at the Library’s Teen Underground Cafe Presents…

Open Mic Night is happening at the following locations. Check out our events page as dates and times become available.

Teen Underground Cafe Presents...

Teen Underground Cafe Presents… is an afterhours showcase of featured teen performers and visual artists at CLP - Main in Oakland. Check out new music, poetry, improv and more - as well as a collection of visual art - from teens in your community.

Teen Underground Cafe Presents… events will be held on the 2nd Friday of the following months:

  • April 2014 with performances from Under Milkwood and Chase the Monkey
  • June 2014
  • August 2014
  • October 2014
  • December 2014
  • February 2015

Want to be considered? We’re looking for teens to perform for 20-40 minutes, as well as visual artists to display their work for the month following the events. (Think of it like your own private opening party.)

Performers and artists will be compensated for their time and efforts. If you are a performer or visual artist and would like to be considered, please submit the following information to teenundergroundcafe@carnegielibrary.org:
