Graphic novels have been getting their fair share of challenges lately. Check out some of these titles, that have been challenged in various states around the country.

iUnusual memoir done in the form of a graphic novel by a cult favorite comic artist offers a darkly funny family portrait that details her relationship with her father, a historic preservation expert dedicated to restoring the family's Victorian home, funeral home director, and high-school English teacher. This title has been challenged for it's "frank sexual content."


The Sandman
The Sandman

One of the most acclaimed graphic novels ever made. This series follows Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, who after being captured for 70 years must rebuild his kingdom which has fallen to ruin. Reasons: anti-family, offensive language, unsuited to age group.


The color of earth
The color of earth

Ehwa is a beautiful young woman who learns both the joys and agony of love as she falls for a Buddhist monk, whose strict code of celibacy makes a romantic relationship impossible. Reasons: nudity, sex education, sexually explicit and unsuited to age group.


Watchmen
Watchmen

Exceptional graphic artwork brings to life the story of the Watchmen as they race against time to find a killer, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Challenged for: graphic violence and sexual content.


Death Note
Death Note

When high school student Light Yagami finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a Shinigami death god, he discovers that any person whose name is written in it dies, so Light decides to use the notebook to rid the world of evil. Challenged for: graphic violence.
