Pittsburgh Region

• Lawrence County: Amish Countryside
  Located one hour north of Pittsburgh, the Old Order Amish community of approximately 1,500 people lives in farms that surround the quaint villages of New Wilmington and Volant in the northern section of the county. This site from the Lawrence County Tourist Promotion Agency offers a self-guided driving tour from their tourist guide.
• Meyersdale Local Tourism
  Information on Meyersdale, located 85 miles southeast of Pittsburgh in Somerset County, from the Meyersdale Library, including "Amish Country: A Guide to Sites and Shopping".
• Smicksburg and Dayton
  These two communities, located 60 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Indiana County, are home to 289 Old Order Amish families. As you drive through the area, you will see some small Amish-owned shops that offer things such as shoe repair, bulk foods, home-baked goods, wood crafts, etc.

Ohio

The Ohio Amish area west of New Philadelphia can be explored in a long day trip or more leisurely over a weekend. Very good for cheese and bulk food stores. Also for bricks.
