Rhyme Time

As your child's first teacher, you have the opportunity to share new words, exciting ideas and imaginative play with your child anywhere and anytime. Rhyme Time demonstrates one way you can incorporate fun early learning experiences into your child's day.

During this lively 25 minute experience, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh children's librarians lead parents and their young children through a variety of rhymes and songs. The Library's Rhyme Time DVD compliments Mother Goose rhyme cards that are given to parents and caregivers to enhance traditional infant/toddler/preschool storytimes.

The DVD is comprised of four segments, which can be selected separately from the home menu:

Infants
Where moms and babies enjoy bouncing, tickling and rocking rhymes

Toddler
Rhymes and songs with parents and children

Preschool
Songs and rhymes with enthusiastic head start and daycare students

Spanish
Songs and rhymes in Spanish

We invite you to watch parents and librarians share rhymes and songs with their young children -- and hope you and your child will chant along.
