Five little puppies were playing in the sun.
This one saw a rabbit, and he began to run.
This one saw a butterfly, and he began to race.
This one saw a cat, and he began to chase.
This one tried to catch his tail, and he went round and round.
This one was so quiet, he never made a sound.

Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?

Oh where, oh where has my little dog gone?
Oh where, oh where can he be?
For his ears are short and his tail is long,
Oh where, oh where can he be

"If I Could Have A Pet" Game

Have children think of a pet they have or would like to have. Then have them take turns pretending to be that pet. A child pretending to be a bird might flap her arms and pretend to fly, etc. The other children guess what kind of pet.

Give the Dog a Bath: A Relay Game

Divide into teams. Have the same items for each: rubber gloves, raincoat, poncho or garbage bag with holes cut in it for head and arms to go through, empty shampoo bottle, scrubbing brush and towel. Players must run to the pile of items and put on the rubber gloves and raincoat, drape the towel around their shoulders, and balance the brush on their heads and carry the shampoo bottle back to their team.

Paint Like A Dog

Supply the students with paint and paper and have them paint like a dog might paint.

Dog and Bone Hide and Seek

Have all the students hide their eyes while you "hide" the bone in the room (to be easily found by the students). Then tell the children to pretend to be dogs and find their bone, but not to touch it. Once they spot it, they should sit down on their spot. The first one to spot it will get to hide the bone the next time.
