6 Early Learning Skills
The ability to describe things and events and tell stories in sequence.
An early learning skill your child needs for school success.
- Ask your child to tell you about his day.
- Share stories together and then talk about the sequence of events.
- Ask open-ended questions such as, “What do you think is happening in this picture?”
- Relate what is happening in the story to similar life experiences in your child’s life, for example, “What did we see when we went to the zoo?”
Always be patient when you are having your child answer questions. It takes time for them to organize their thoughts and respond.
