Regional Asset District - RAD
The mission of RAD is to support and finance regional assets in the
areas of libraries, parks and recreation, cultural, sports and civic
facilities and programs. The District receives one-half of the proceeds
from the 1% Allegheny County Sales and Use Tax and the other half is
paid directly to the County and municipal governments by the State Treasurer.

with up-to-date arts and entertainment events listings. The website
features blogs, local angles on the news, feature articles on local
and visiting artists and local theatrical productions as well as music
event listings by genre. Local acts and artists can get a listing for
their upcoming shows for free.
Pittsburgh Arts Council
The Council whose members include over 100 local arts organizations
aims to make the arts including music central to the lives of individuals
by expanding the reach, influence and effectiveness of the region's
diverse cultural community. An events calendar, ticket sales and arts
advocacy activities are a few examples of their ongoing programs. The
city's chapters of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and Business Volunteers

The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh has been delighting audiences with

The Pittsburgh Banjo Club is a non-profit organization whose goal is

Native Instrument. It has over 100 members, including banjos, trumpets,
tubas, and bass, and its repertoire consists of sing-alongs, vocals,
banjo solos, music from the ’20s and ’30s, polkas and Dixieland.

Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra
The PCO, established in 1958, has over 60 volunteer musicians who are
dedicated to providing quality music at a reasonable cost to the families
of Southwest Pennsylvania. The orchestra performs five concerts each
season in the Upper St. Clair High School Theater.
Founded in 1988, the Pittsburgh Compline Choir sings the ancient “Prayer
at the Close of the Day” service each Sunday during the academic year
at 8:00 PM in the candlelit beauty of Heinz Chapel. The auditioned mixed
voice ensemble is comprised of professional musicians, clergy, students
and lay people from throughout the region.

The Pittsburgh Concert Chorale is an 85-member ensemble of volunteer
singers from all over the greater Pittsburgh area that practices in
the North Hills. The group provides a three-program season of varied
music each year, including a Christmas program, major classical work
with orchestra, and a pops program with prominent local jazz artists.

The Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, founded by Nathan Davis and directed

Pittsburgh Mandolin Society
Pittsburgh has the largest mandolin orchestra in the United States and
provides many performance opportunities for mandolinists. While the
history of mandolin groups in Pittsburgh goes back to the 1890's, the
current group was founded in 2002.

The Pittsburgh Philharmonic, a 60-member symphony orchestra in the northern
