Social entrepreneurship is defined as the pursuit of social objectives with innovative methods, through the creation of products, organizations, and practices that yield social benefits. Although primarily focused on the nonprofit sector, the public and business sectors are also covered, as are those that work across organizational boundaries. Numerous examples of all types of social problem solving organizations are included. The authors balance theory and practice in a comprehensive view of this developing field.
