Gardening Thyme

Community vegetable and herb gardens are at the following locations:

  • CLP - Homewood
  • CLP - Knoxville
  • CLP - Lawrenceville
  • CLP - Main
  • CLP - Mt. Washington
  • CLP - Sheraden
  • CLP - Southside
  • CLP - Squirrel Hill
  • CLP - West End
  • CLP - Woods Run
Participate in planning, planting, maintaining and harvesting the crops at the gardens.
Attend programs about gardening, seasonal planting, composting, seed saving, harvesting and more.

Ask the library staff or check out the gardening board at each neighborhood library for details about planting schedules, how to volunteer and program times. Programs will take place throughout the spring and summer.

This program is made possible by the Mary Jane Berger Memorial Foundation.

Through the Mary J. Berger Memorial Foundation grant, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is able to partner with organizations such as Grow Pittsburgh, Garden Dreams, the Penn State Master Gardener Program and others to bring hands-on learning opportunities in gardening to families throughout our community.
