The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood

In this futuristic, dystopian novel, Margaret Atwood tells the story of two women who have survived a natural disaster and find themselves some of the only people left on Earth. In order to survive, they must navigate a harsh world where animals and humans have been genetically altered, the environment is hostile and fragile and difficult decisions must be made. Despite its dark tone and dark humor, The Year of the Flood is a story about friendship and the will to survive.
