World Kaleidoscope: Dan Possumato and Friends
Sunday, November 25, 2012
| Other Dates
2:00 PM
- 3:00 PM
Dan plays traditional Irish music on the button accordion. He has recorded two CDs that have met with critical acclaim in Ireland, the USA and as far away as Japan. Ellen Cranitch, host of the weekly traditional program “Grace Notes” on Radio Telefís Éireann (RTÉ), Ireland’s public broadcasting service, described Dan as “a great accordion player.” Many other critics have echoes Susan Lindsay’s comment about his music in the Boston Irish Reporter when she wrote that it “summons up the dance hall feel of days of yore.” He will perform at the Carnegie Library together with several first-class local musicians, and they will play music that is the same as you’d expect to hear in Ireland itself!
