Successful Annual Giving Strategies - NEW Info!

Wednesday, September 17, 2014
9:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Annual giving is the life blood of every nonprofit organization. Often considered the “front lines” of fundraising, an annual giving program seeks funds on an annual or recurring basis, from current and prospective donors. Its purpose is to identify and provide donors with information about the organization and an opportunity to support it. If your organization has never had an annual giving program, or if you already have one in place but it has stalled or declined in support, this training is for you!

The goal of this presentation will be to provide participants with the tools necessary to create and implement a successful annual giving program for the identification and solicitation of individual donors. This will be a hands-on interactive session where attendees will learn: how to build an annual fund budget; develop campaign strategy documents for direct mail, giving societies, special events and employee campaigns; create a comprehensive calendar; and learn ways to help execute and manage a successful campaign.

The last hour will provide attendees with the opportunity to discuss specific issues or concerns that may be presenting roadblocks to their success. Attendees are encouraged to bring examples of their current budgets, plans, and samples to share and discuss.

The speaker will be Marcia Wallander, senior director of advancement at Carlow University. Marcia has nearly 20 years of fundraising experience in health care, academia and social service nonprofit agencies. Throughout her career, Marcia provided leadership, operational planning and strategic direction for development and marketing initiatives including individual, foundation and corporate giving, online giving, employee and United Way campaigns, fundraising events and capital campaigns.

The fee to attend this workshop is $30 per person, which includes a light continental breakfast. Space is limited and registration is required by calling the Nonprofit Resource Center at 412-622-6277.
