Author Spotlight--Jodi Picoult

Bestselling author Jodi Picoult is a wizard with domestic drama, combining aspects of legal thrillers and suspense novels with frank explorations of relationships within and surrounding families. As a young writer, she feared that her stable, uneventful childhood was a stumbling block to her writing career. She soon realized, however, that the tangles of relationships within her own family could be the driving force behind her novels.

Picoult has authored twelve novels to date, writing and raising a family at the same time. She is married to Tim Van Leer, whom she met as a student at Princeton. Together they have three children and a variety of pets.
