Research shows that communities with active, effective library systems generally have a stronger community, business and economic climate. Community donations from corporations and businesses help the Library provide valued, in-demand literacy programs and services free to the public. The following is a list of ways your corporation can support Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
Corporate Annual Fund:
A gift to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Corporate Annual Fund encourages economic development by supporting early childhood literacy programs, resources for small businesses, job and career assistance, research databases, Internet access and so much more. An economic impact study shows that for every dollar provided in contributions, the Library provides more than $6 worth of benefits to the citizens of our region.
Sponsorships:
The Library hosts a variety of events throughout the year to raise funds, promote library awareness and provide services for children, families and adults. These events include: Writers LIVE @ CLP - Main, After Hours @ The Library and our annual Summer Reading Extravaganza/Summer Reading Program. By becoming an underwriter, your company helps provide critical programs while showing the community you care about literacy and learning.
Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program:
Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is recognized as an Educational Improvement Organization through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's EITC Program. The Library hosts a variety of youth literacy programs throughout the region that are approved to receive EITC tax-credit contributions. A one-year commitment to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh earns you a tax credit equal to 75% of your contribution to the Library. A two-year commitment of the same amount of contribution can earn you a credit of 90% for two consecutive tax years.
Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP):
Your company can receive significant tax credits by committing funds to an NAP approved project that encourages businesses to invest in economically distressed neighborhoods. The Library periodically applies for NAP funds for qualified programs in designated communities.
Volunteer and Matching Program:
If your company offers a matching gift program that will match charitable contributions made by your employees and/or from employees' spouses or retirees, we welcome the opportunity to share information with your employees about how their gifts can be leveraged to help the Library. Employees from your organization can also join our staff in volunteering for special library events.
Your corporate foundation can also support the Library by making a gift to support general operating costs, programs, collection updates, capital projects, our annual fund and special events.
Businesses that support Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh in any of the ways listed above will receive recognition benefits from the Library while supporting crucial literacy programs for residents of all ages.
