Imposter 'Waldos' Swarm CLP-East Liberty
In May, a sold-out crowd of more than 500 people played detective in the hunt for "Waldo," the elusive character popularized in British illustrator Martin Handford's books. During the evening, After Hours @ the Library guests scoured CLP - East Liberty for clues to his (or her) true identity in a live action game that headlined an evening of music, glass blowing demonstrations, entertainment, dancing, crafters, a photo booth, food and fun-raising!
Ticket sales combined with proceeds from a silent auction totaled $18,112 and were matched as part of the Library's Perfect Match campaign to support library services.
"This unique event has come to signify so much more for me than a simple, awe-some fundraiser," says three-time After Hours Committee Member Grace Miller. "The whimsical creative approach and enthusiastic participation of local craftsmen help to make the event truly special. After Hours is, for me, not just a show of support for our libraries in Pittsburgh, but a show of support for our exuberant growing culture."
