Volunteers Lead Change
From volunteering at one of the Library's many events, to repairing equipment used by readers with disabilities, to organizing book sales, to providing one-on-one professional assistance from foreign language instruction to job search strategies - library volunteers are creating change. Because of the efforts of the more than 400 dedicated library volunteers, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is able to provide quality library services for the citizens of Allegheny County. In 2009 alone, volunteers donated 28,402 hours of their time - contributing a value of $556,963 to the Library!
As valued members of the Library, volunteers are constantly exposed to ideas, books, book lovers and authors. It's a great way to serve your community while meeting interesting people and expanding your horizons.
